On April 13th at 6:50 a.m., after almost 2 weeks of false labor TORTURE and 3 weeks before my due date, I woke up to go to the bathroom....and my water broke. No mistaking THAT!!! lol Pretty sure I almost gave Mr. Benjamin a Heart attack....
Jaxon Cole was born 5 hours later....He weighed 7 lbs. 3 oz and was 19.5 inches long.
When they put his tiny little body on my chest I could not believe how absolutely perfect he was....olive complexion, LOTS of dark hair, he actually looks like me!!! er, well, like my baby pictures. The only thing missing was the sound of that first cry. I waited. I kept asking the Dr. over and over again what was wrong & why he wasn't crying. The nurses said that he was fine. They handed him to me after swaddling him and putting a cap on his head. He still had not cried. We took a few pictures and let Tay hold him.... then he started making this rattling sound...when he would breath. They took him to the nursery. Jaxon stayed a little over 48 hours in the NICU and was put on antibiotics through an IV. He did not cry for the first time until he was 27 hours old. We still don't know why but, because he didn't cry, the fluid in his lungs (that usually breaks up when baby cries) were starting to cause an infection. Making him very sick....
All is well now and we are home. Jaxon has found his voice, but he doesn't use it often. He is very laid back and quiet, unlike his Daddy or me.....or his big sister :)
Thank you for all of your prayers....
