Help us Find a CURE!!!!

Hi Everyone!!
I am a blogaholic and yet very very behind on my posting. lol There aren't enough hours in the day. Anywho....Where to begin (sigh)
A couple of week ago I was a teensy bit frazzled and had alot on my mind. I was worried about Bailey and her upcoming surgery to have her feeding tube put in....I was stressing about Tatum's 3rd Birthday Party planning. I was trying to come up w/ ideas for what I was going to do to celebrate the store being opened for a year....
Then....it hit me. A GREAT idea.
...once again....where do I start....
Okay. These two beauties are my cousins. I inherited alot of awesome family members when I married Ben :) Stormy is 13 and Bailey is 11. Both girls were diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when they were young....
Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that:
clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections; and
obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.
In the 1950s, few children with cystic fibrosis lived to attend elementary school. Today, advances in research and medical treatments have further enhanced and extended life for children and adults with CF. Many people with the disease can now expect to live into their 30s, 40s and beyond.

So.....The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Hosts an annual CF walk in Tyler every year. This year the walk falls exactly 1 week before my stores Anniversary of being opened for 1 year.

I talked to all of my AMAZING vendors (amazing girls and friends) That make some of the Items that I sell in the store and asked them all to donate something for a Basket that I want to put together. The Baskets value is over $900 and still growing!!!! We are all going to sell Raffle tickets ($10 each) for this basket. This Basket includes everything from jewelry, Hair bows, Gift certificates, Dresses, SPARKLES bling Converse, a Canvas painting, a hand painted rocking chair, and LOTS more....

Now I know, That's alot of random stuff, in alot of different sizes for both boys, girls, babies, and Mommy (sorry men lol) and not everything in the basket could necessarily be used personally by the drawing winner. BUT, Christmas is coming up and IMAGINE how much of your Christmas shopping (ugh) you could consider done if you won the drawing?! (I'm rambling now) That's not the best part....

On Oct. 3rd (1 week after the walk) we will draw the Basket winners name. The winner gets all the goodies and ALL of the proceeds from the ticket sales will go to the CF Foundation. FIGHT CF!!! The walk is September 26, 2009 @ Bergfeld Park in Tyler. Registration is at 8:00 a.m. http://www.cff.org/

We love you Stormy and Bailey!! xoxoxo -Jess

COLT's Stool (from SHILOH)

I painted this camo & orange stool for Jessica Sluder's precious daughter Shiloh to give as a Birthday present. Jessica is a friend of mine who actually makes some of the items in the store, so, I get to see Miss Shiloh often. I think Shiloh was happy w/ the way the stool turned out :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLT!!

BROOKLYN's Chair

I am aware that I have said this before..But, currently, This is my favorite thing I have ever painted. I LOVE the prints of the fabrics that Jennifer brought me to match Brooklyn's chair to her bedroom. The paisley print on the seat was a challenge but, I really had fun painting this & I love the end result!!
Enjoy!!
